Chocolate and Beer Pairing

The Academy of Natural Sciences newest exhibit, Chocolate: The Exhibition, opens Friday, and I’ll be organizing a couple beer & chocolate events, including “One Last Shot,” a public session on Jan. 15.

I have a few ideas on the pairings, and I’m gearing up for some sticky-fingered “research.” But I’d love to hear your suggestions! Which beers go best with dark noire, milk chocolate, white chocolate and spicy dark chocolate?

Column Add: America’s youngest female brewery owner

This week’s column about Forgotten Boardwalk focuses on owner Jamie Queli. At just 30 years, her relatively young age – and gender – make her an exception among local brewery owners.

That’s him posing with his bibs from a pair of Schmidt’s runs back in 1983. (10K time 48:30 – not too shabby!)

Nick, who works at Bell Bev, recalled one race in which cases of Schmidt’s were piled up at the ...
